Description: Beaverton Valley Farm |
Stay at a traditional San Juan Island farm, conveniently located four miles from the ferry landing, with easy access to Westside parks, Roche Harbor, Friday Harbor, and many Island activities. This is a great place to get away with friends and family. Children stay for free. The living room is designed for hours of quiet comfort, with comfortable reading areas, hundreds of books in the library, and a large natural stone fireplace. The farm's three acres consist of open southerly facing meadows, rocks, and rocky outcropping, typical of the Island's post glacial geology. Start the day with a great farm breakfast, including scratch-baked breads and homemade jellies and jams. In the late afternoon, guests may find fresh cookies or afternoon tea with carrot cake or scones in the living room. After a day of Island activities, relax in the outdoor hot tub. Pets are welcome to stay in the log cabin, built in the 1900s. The main house at Beaverton Valley Farm was built in 1907, one of the early farms in the valley. In the 1950s, the house was moved down the back side of Cady Mountain to its present location. The house has had a colorful history, having served as a judge's residence, a fisherman's home port (the boats are still on the property), and a bunkhouse. The innkeepers at the Beaverton Valley Farm ensure that their guests' stay is a highlight of a visit to the San Juan Islands.
Guests can choose from four wonderful guestrooms or the Old Settler's Cabin. Each accommodation offers comfortable feather beds, fine linens, handcrafted wood furniture and marine life carvings. All rooms feature alarm clock radio, bathrobes, and hair dryer, while the cabin also offers dish TV with DVD player and VCR, kitchenette, and gas fireplace. The cabin is also provided with a continental-plus breakfast delivered every morning.
